Pregnancy stages by Katie Byrd

To develop well being of growing babies, mothers must first find prenatal care important. Regular prenatal medical checkup is vital in providing right care to both mother and baby. Being mother for the first time may leave you anxious about handling the stages of pregnancy.

Many experts have advised pregnant mothers to have pregnancy journal to keep track of the weekly developments. Many will experience several changes during the first stage of pregnancy. The movement such as heartbeat and moving of tiny limbs of the baby can be felt during the first trimester. During the week seven7, the baby will have a face and various vital organs will start to develop. The baby continues to develop during the second trimester. He or she will have strong heartbeat and even starts to develop fine body hair during week 16.

Mothers are advised to take up childbirth and breastfeeding lessons during the third trimester. On week 35, both mother and baby are ready for pregnancy due date. Pregnancy due date can be determined by using pregnancy due date calculator which can be found online. It is established by using the number of weeks since the last menstrual period to describe how far along a mother is in her pregnancy. It may be longer or shorter depends on individual.

On week 37, especially when the due date is near, a baby could appear anytime between now and week 42. Mothers may found babies having more hiccups when they are trying to breath with his lungs. However, the hiccups are resulted from no air around him and also the amniotic fluid that gets into his windpipe. During the final week, soft and smooth skin, covered by greasy cheesy looking substance called 'vernix' will be fully developed.
